  • How firm is this foam? I get that it's compressible, but I'm looking for something very firm.

It's is very firm By Luigi m Pardo on November 18, 2016 .

  • Does pick foam go alway through tray or not. If i wanted to stack multiple trays would i need to make a backing?

I'm not sure what you mean here but I'll take a guess. I am going to assume that "pick" foam is actually "pack" foam. I don't know what you mean by "tray". The foam comes in a sheet cut into several hundred tiny squares about 1/2" by 1/2". I am going to assume that "pick" foam is actually "pack" foam. I don't know what you mean by "tray". The foam comes in a sheet cut into several hundred tiny squares about 1/2" by 1/2". If you pull one out you will be able to see all the way thru the foam so there is a hole there. If you want the item to be protected from the bottom side, you would need another layer of foam (or some other substance) to protect the item. Whether or not you need a "backing" depends on the item. The foam sheets are fairly stiff. I used two of them on top of a layer of foam rubber to build a custom carrying case inside an old briefcase for some photography equipment. Works perfectly. see less By Charles T. Andrews on August 5, 2015 .

  • When you remove the foam, does the hole go all the way through? Thanks.

  • Can it be cut to size? I have a box that is 8"x4 1/4"x1 1/2"

It could but you would probably have to reinforce the edges you cut off some how By vince on February 6, 2015 .

  • Info says it's 0.98" thick, but fits the Camkix case that is 2.7" thick. Precut foam in the Camkix cases is 1.375". Will this be too thin?

I have 3 sets of the foam for different configurations I use. The original and the two new ones I ordered. they are all the same size. The whole case is 2.7". The foam only sits in the bottom part. I see no difference between the original the the new ones I ordered... By Not-so-new parents on April 4, 2015 .

  • Have anyone tried it with other cases?

Yes...it is simply a rectangle with little punchouts...you can apply it to wherever you need it By Karl L Scarabin on September 29, 2015 .

  • This is a bit too big. Can I pluck from the outer edges, or will it cause it to fall apart?

Each cube is attached on all sides so can remove cubes where ever you need to. By F RAMIREZ on January 7, 2016 .

  • can this fit any case? or does it have to be a case with the same length and width dimensions?

There is a boarder around the perimeter that is not perforated. My case was too small for these inserts and I just removed that border and just used the perforated parts. Its holding up just fine and does not seem to have any affect on it.
